Nighttime lane closures are scheduled this week

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Nighttime lane closures are scheduled this week along parts of Interstate 75 in Sarasota County as crews perform routine bridge maintenance and construction, transportation officials said.Single lane closures will take place on multiple bridges along the I-75 corridor — identified by the Florida Department of Transportation as Bridge Nos. 170090, 170091, 170093, 170096, 170101, 170177, 170110, 170178 and 170111.The closures are set to begin Oct. 20 and continue through Oct. 23 with lanes that will close each night at about 7 p.m. and are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zones, follow posted construction signs and allow extra travel time, officials said. The schedule may change because of weather conditions or other unforeseen issues.
