Bonita Bay residents joined Habitat homeowners Carlos and Maria for a home dedication. -COURTESY PHOTO Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties dedicated its 72nd home funded and built by residents of Bonita Bay, marking another milestone in its partnership to help local families achieve affordable homeownership. Habitat’s partnership with Bonita Bay began in 2002 and has since grown into a community-wide fundraising campaign. More than 63 neighborhood captains now lead peer-to-peer fundraising efforts throughout Bonita Bay, while the community’s dedicated volunteer group, the Nail Pounders, works alongside Habitat homeowners at wall raisings and build days across Lee County.
