Deep moisture keeps rain chances high for today

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A weather system digging over the eastern United States is pulling moisture from the Gulf, triggering widespread showers and thunderstorms. While the heaviest, flood-threatening rains remain focused further north, the Suncoast should expect rain and possibly heavy downpours again today, especially in the first half of the day. The sun will make an appearance at times and high temperatures will top out in the upper 80s.
