
Officer found guilty after encouraging family to whip handcuffed 15-year-old with belt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) - A 2-year-old Tennessee girl drowned in a backyard pool after her father says she ran off while he was changing for a planned swim.Viomara Laura Ortiz, 2, died last Monday night after she was found unresponsive in her family’s backyard pool, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.Viomara and her father had planned to go swimming together around 6 p.m. Her father told police that while he was changing, the toddler ran off. He searched for her for several minutes before he found her unresponsive in the pool.Viomara’s father performed CPR on her then rushed her to a nearby fire station.
